CHRISTMAS DINNER

Una cena di natale - Jo Bettoja and Anna Maria Cornetto

Serves 8

Capon used to the be the most popular Christmas Day dish in Italy, but now turkey is becoming the vogue. It is typically Milanese to serve turkey garnished with whole fruits and sage and rosemary sprigs. The real Christmas dessert in Italy is panettone, born in Milan, but eaten everywhere in all Italian families. Chocolate or plain nougat (torrone) from Cremona is also a popular Christmas sweet. With the turkey, we recommend Dolcetto, a dry red wine that has a brick-red color and slightly bitter aftertaste.

SPINACH AND RICOTTA RAVIOLI WITH BUTTER AND SAGE -Ravioli di spinaci e ricotta con burro e salvia

TURKEY WITH HOT FRUIT -Tacchino alla frutta calda

HOT, COOKED FRUIT - APRICOTS, PEACHES, BANANAS, PINEAPPLE, ORANGES -Frutta calda

MIXED GREEN SALAD -Insalata verde mista

FROZEN CREAM WITH MARRONS GLACES -Semifreddo ai marrons glacés, dolce di Natale
